The Art Of Video Blogging

Video blogging is when you upload a number of videos to your website.  The purpose of doing this is so you will get responses from the people who watch them.  Delivery can be done by way of RSS feeds.  This way, the recipient will automatically receive the videos. 

This technique is similar to a regular blog, but with this you’re able to convey your feelings on screen.  This is something you can’t do otherwise because you’re just writing and people are only reading your words.  Your facial expressions can give a clearer picture of how you feel at that time.  It can show the excitement you feel or the anger you feel. 

This is also good for keeping in touch with loved ones.  You can always tell them hello or if you’re separated by distance, express how much you miss them.  You can also let them know what’s going on where you are, if you wish to do so.  If you’re looking to audition for a play or a reading, you can use this to practice and see how you look and sound. 

It may take a little longer to create a video blog.  With a regular blog, all you have to do is write and upload your content.  On the other hand for video blogging, you’ll need a camera and a computer, preferably one that is compatible with movie programs.  You should have a camera that can be used for videos as well as still photos. 

You can create your video using either a camera or a camcorder.  You don’t have to go to a professional to have this done.  After completion, the video should be downloaded on your computer so it can be formatted and compressed. 

There are several different movie programs that can be used for this.  The more popular ones are Movie Maker and iMovie.  Movie Maker is used for Microsoft Windows based computers and iMovie is used for Mac computers.

The video can be edited to your satisfaction.  You can also add sound to it.  It will have to be compressed as much as possible.  This way, it won’t take forever for people to download it and view it.  Don’t compress it too much where the quality will be compromised. 

After compressing it, you can upload it to your website.  Another alternative is to upload it to a video blogging forum group.  If you do the latter, you will have to abide by their rules. 

If you feel good about your new video blog, by all means go ahead and promote it.  How do you do that?  You can submit your links to other boards that you visit or you can add a link in your e-mail signature.  The more you post, the better chance you have of someone clicking your link and watching your video blog. 

You can also use an RSS feed.  People can subscribe to your video blog and they will be sent to them automatically for them to download.  Once you have all your strategies in place and work them diligently, visitors will come from everywhere just to see what you have to say.
