An audio book is a cassette, compact disc or MP3 version of a book. It is a way for someone to know a piece of literature without having to sit down and read the actual book. Many times in our lives there is simply not enough time to devote to reading. It is a shame but at least the audio book is a better compromise than trying to watch an adaptation onscreen
