I have been running a small business for the last fourteen years and it was not until I realised the full potential of the world wide web that
the business could thrive in the way in which I had always believed it could.
My name is Stephen Hill from the UK . I offer a stuttering therapy service which aims to help people who stutter to achieve fluency. My first website went online in 1999 and I
then went about learning all about how to promote the site.
The world was now able to hear and read about the service that I offered and at last people had hope that they could overcome their speech
impediments.
The real break through arrived in 2005 when I discovered the world of blogging. I could now post comments online on other people’s blogs, thus
further enhancing my audience.
On one such blog I met a man, who has now become a very good friend of mine, called John. He offers a DVD authoring service and would eventually help me to be set up a downloadable DVD option on my own website.
Many blog owners have now added the no follow tag onto any comments that are posted on their blog. This has taken away part of the value of
posting such a comment however it is still a powerful way to attract visitors to one’s website.
In conclusion if you are looking for additional sales for your small business it would be very beneficial to have an internet presence in the
form of a professional looking website.
If you have any spare resources, adding a blog to act along side the website is also worth while and definitely recommended.
