7 Ways You Can Blog For Profit

Is it possible to make money from your blog?  Sure, especially if you’re getting lots of good traffic to it.  Here are several ways you can go about doing that:

1. E-Books – You can sell e-books on your site, just like you would a regular website with a newsletter list.  You can either write them yourself or have someone else do it for you.  After your sales, you can find out which ones generated the most interest.  Those e-books could be advertised more heavily. 

2. Pay Per Click Ads or PPC – If you stick with it long enough and you don’t get banned, you can put ads from Adsense, Yahoo or other pay per click advertisers on your blog.  If it is well liked and you get a lot of visitors, you could do well with the ads.  When someone clicks on the ad, you receive a portion of the advertiser’s revenue.  The ads can be created to match the theme of your site.  They can really stand out if they’re applied correctly.  Some bloggers only make so much from the ads; then there are those who make six figures like clockwork.  It can take a while before the real money starts to come in. 

3. A Tip Jar – On the side of the site, you may find what bloggers call a “tip jar”.  It’s usually nothing more than a PayPal button asking for donations.  If your content is good and people enjoy reading your stuff, they can reward you by sending you some money. 

4. Café Press – This website sells t-shirts, mugs and other accessories.  Some of the people that sell their merchandise through the site using their blog logo.  You can do the same thing.  You can sell it on your site and receive a portion of the sales.

5. Selling Affiliate Products – This is similar to using pay pre click ads, but it’s a little more difficult to earn from the advertisers.  As with Adsense, you will have to allow time enough for your reader base to increase.  Then as it increases, they’ll trust you more and eventually purchase what you’re recommending.  Some people don’t care for their ads because some of them are too colorful, or too showy.  However, you can always change them to what you want them to look like. 

There is no surefire guarantee of how much you will make using any of these methods.  You can make as little as $10 a month or you can go into the four, five and six figure range.  It depends on several things. 

If you’re heavily promoting your site, chances are that people see you link from other sites and decide to check you out.  Promoting and marketing are keys in getting the masses to know who you are.  This includes visiting and commenting at other blog sites, forum sites, etc.
